Most of it is puerile nonsense & makes pretentious claims of inflated importance, artificial status & apparent desire for more money from the tribe's purse.

Headed up 'Office of the Maori King' the whining & bleating of how 'tough things
are' for him is the single intention - to make people feel sorry for him.
To begin: This piece of writing has
been a difficult one for me to draft as I have had a lot happening & have
done several things that made me change my mind three times while writing it. I
looked the last piece & I could have easily picked up on that &
continue on with those themes but the things I have struggled with are important
and I felt I needed to make them known.

TAA says it approached seven iwi & a
number of funding agencies but the project did not meet criteria for external funding
& was unsuccessful. Te Puni Kokiri
kicked in $359k.
In May 2012 Greg Miller put a resolution to Te Kauhanganui that it approves a one-off grant of $900,000 (GST inc) to settle all outstanding construction costs relating to Mahinarangi & Turongo House.

4.7 Ururangi Deed of Funding
4.7.1 Introduction
The Ururangi Deed of Funding governs
grants provided to the Office of the King for their day to day operations.
Grants provided for the period under review are as follows:
- FY2009 - $1,263,317
- FY2010 - $1,280,000
- FY2011 - $1,176,745
For FY2009 payments were directly
processed by WRLT for transactions relating to the Office of the King. The
grants for FY2010 and FY2011 were paid out in three instalments.
Grants for
Koroneihana, Kiingitanga 150 years Celebrations & Turongo / Raukawaiti / Mahinarangi
have not been included in the above balances.
4.7.2 Policy reference
The following clauses of the Deed of
Funding refer to financial reporting responsibilities of the Office of the
King:
Section 3 – Conditions
;The Grant will be made available to
the Recipient provided:
(i) Compliance- In addition to the
annual funding forecasts and proposals, the Recipient will provide a six
monthly forecast report...to the Chair of Te Arataura and the CEO of the
Trustee, outlining the proposed use of any grants in the upcoming six month
period.'
(k) 'Any part of the Grants which
have not been used in accordance with these provisions must be refunded to the
Trustees...'
(m) Audit- 'Within 3 months of the
end of each 31 March financial year, the Recipient must produce a special
purpose statement of revenue and expenditure...'
(o) 'Te Arataura may also, at any
time, on behalf of the Trustee, take such steps as it considers reasonably necessary
to audit the Recipients:
- Use of the grants
- Compliance with the terms of this
deed.
4.7.3 Key observations
KPMG states: 'We were not provided with evidence to
support any reporting back as required per the above clauses from the Office of
the King to Te Kauhanganui in relation to the utilisation of funds'.
OBSERVATIONS & SUMMARY
The 1995 Settlement was negotiated for the benefit of the people. Not for the benefit of one family & their hangers-on.
How much more money will this person demand & claims he needs to be paid from the tribal purse?

being handed over with no evidence of alignment with the Deed of
Funding criteria.
And for what benefit & to whom?
Not one more cent of tribal money should be paid to this individual or his office or for any of his hostings or private travel. He & his family & hangers-on have lived very well off the tribe. It is now time to stop the abuse, the greed & the capitulation by WRLT & TAA to this greedy lazy individual of any more settlement money.
